Sports has always been an integral part of Uttar Pradesh’s culture and important aspect of life such that we could say that Uttar Pradesh has a rich sports heritage like it’s cultural heritage from where various new sports persons of different disciplines have emerged out excellently and have resulted in glory of the State in realms of sports. Thus, to grow and encourage promising talent in Uttar Pradesh, a Sports Department has been setup by Government of Uttar Pradesh that solely works to bring about qualitative improvement in the performance of sports persons by offering them all the essential facilities to excel in their respective sports.
